The traditional method of roof louver vent is silica gel waterproofing. Traditional smoke vents manufacturers use silica gel to fill the gaps in the joints and overlapping parts of the plates to prevent rain and snow. However, there are many problems of using silicone waterproof technology.

1. Since silica gel is a chemical material, many small workshop manufacturers use extremely poor quality silica gel in order to save costs. With time goes by, there will be problems of aging and cracking of silica gel. 

2. Many steel structure workshops have strong vibration machinery and equipment, and continuous vibration will also cause the silicone to crack and leak.

3. As the temperature changes, the gaps and overlapping areas of the silicone connections will expand and contract with heat, causing slight displacements. The temperature difference between day and night is large, and the temperature difference in different seasons such as summer and winter, which will continue to cause thermal expansion and contraction between the gaps of the natural roof ventilation. Because of ultraviolet ray, this phenomenon will cause the silicone to age and crack and leak water throughout the year.
