PC hollow solar panels are processed from engineering plastics, namely polycarbonate (PC). The current PC hollow solar panels are generally only used for parking sheds, bus station sheds, and some small civil and commercial daylighting ceilings (Baidu Encyclopedia has an introduction). Because of its performance defects, it is now rarely used in large industrial plants.
Mechanical strength and waterproof performance: Because the raw material is only polycarbonate resin without other reinforcing materials, the mechanical strength of PC hollow solar panels is much worse than that of FRP panels, and because there is only resin as a raw material, PC hollow solar panels have a large thermal expansion coefficient , Is more than 10 times that of steel, due to thermal expansion and cold contraction and deformation, causing water leakage problems such as joints. This is also the main reason why PC hollow solar panels have been completely replaced by FRP lighting panels in large steel structure industrial plants in the past 10 years. More than 10 years ago, there were 9 out of 10 steel structure workshops that used PC hollow sun panels, and 9 of them had great potential for water leakage.
Daylighting performance: Because the PC hollow solar panel is a pure resin panel, its daylighting rate can reach 90%, which is higher than the 85% daylighting rate of the FRP board with glass fiber in the resin. However, in the actual project, the daylighting rate will not be as high as 90%, otherwise it will be too hot and dazzling in summer. And because the PC hollow solar panel has no light scattering performance, the direct sunlight causes too high light transmission, which will cause great discomfort to the workers in the factory in summer, especially the production workshop is easy to cause safety accidents.
Anti-aging performance: A layer of UV coating is added to the surface of the PC hollow solar panel, which has anti-ultraviolet performance. But generally the UV coating added is thinner, and the anti-aging performance is not high. Manufacturers generally provide a 5-year warranty and a 10-year warranty.
2. FRP lighting board
FRP daylighting board is short for glass fiber reinforced methylene dicarboxylic acid polyester daylighting board, which is composed of three raw materials: resin, glass fiber and anti-aging film. FRP daylighting board is a kind of high-performance daylighting board used by more than 99% of large-scale steel structure industrial plant roof daylighting belts, daylighting skylights and daylighting ventilation skylights.
Mechanical performance and waterproof performance: The glass fiber added in the resin of the FRP board ensures that the lighting board has good mechanical strength, just like reinforced concrete with steel bars added to the concrete. At the same time, due to glass fiber reinforcement, the thermal expansion coefficient of FRP board is only 3.6 times that of steel, the deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction is small, and the joint seam has good waterproof performance.
Daylighting performance: high-quality FRP daylighting board special resin ensures that the daylighting board has good daylighting performance and anti-aging performance. The light transmittance is 50%-85%, which can be selected according to the needs. In order to ensure good lighting in winter and avoid excessive sunlight in summer, the light transmittance of 70% is generally selected.
Anti-aging performance: The surface of the daylighting board is covered with a special imported anti-ultraviolet and anti-aging film with a nominal value of 20um to protect the resin from ultraviolet rays and enhance the anti-aging performance of the board. The warranty period of the FRP daylighting board is usually ten years, and the longer one can A 30-year warranty has been reached.
